Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89 on Monday, November 24, in Mumbai. While the family of the late actor is yet to make any official statement, the news has been confirmed by police sources. As soon as the news of his demise surfaced, tributes poured in on social media. Not just from Hindi cinema, but South Indian stars also mourned the loss of the legend, including Mohanlal .

His funeral was held at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai. Esha Deol, Hema Malini, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan , and Salman Khan were seen arriving for the funeral.
Dharmendra has worked on over 300 movies in his six-decade-long career. His popular films include 'Bandini' (1963), 'Haqeeqat' (1964), 'Sholay' (1975), 'Mera Gaon Mera Desh' (1971), and 'Chupke Chupke' (1975). He was also seen in 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' (2023).
The actor would have celebrated his 90th birthday on December 8, 2025.
The actor is survived by his wives, Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, and sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, and daughters Ahana, Esha, Ajeita, and Vijeta.
