A 23 year old man has passed away after being beaten and stabbed in Times Square early on Monday, according to the New York police.
The victim was attacked shortly following 1 a.m. near the intersection of 49th Street and 7th Avenue. Police and law enforcement sources stated to the New York Post that the man was assaulted by three persons who remain at large.
Officials reported that the victim was initially struck with a baseball bat before being stabbed several times, that includes injuries to his back and right thigh. Emergency responders transported him to Bellevue Hospital, where he was later declared dead.
Police issued descriptions of the three persons being sought: one suspect wore a purple sweater and a black ski mask, another in a black jacket, dark trousers, and brown boots, and the third was clad completely in black. No arrests have been made, and investigators have not revealed any potential motive.
This incident marks the second homicide in the Midtown North precinct in just two days. On Sunday, 39 year old Gibson Winters, released recently from federal prison, was fatally shot outside a nightclub in Hell’s Kitchen. That case also continues to be unsolved, with no arrests reported.
Officials remain to urge anyone with details to come forward and support the investigation.
