A person has tragically died after being hit by a Victoria line train at a busy London Underground station. British Transport Police were called to Green Park station at 3.50pm today to reports of a person on the tracks. Officers were joined by an ambulance crew, a paramedic, an incident response officer, and the Hazardous Area Response Team from the London Ambulance Service.

Despite the emergency response, the person was pronounced dead at the scene. Their death is not being treated as suspicious. The incident sparked travel disruption as the Victoria line faced severe delays and trains were incredibly crowded. There were severe delays across the entire Victoria line, minor delays between Upminster and Barking on the District line, and minor delays across the entire Bakerloo line.

An update from Transport for London read: "Victoria Line: No service between Warren Street and Brixton and SEVERE DELAYS on the rest of the line while the emergency services deal with a casualty on the track."

Tickets have been accepted on London Bus, Weaver line, Suffragette line, Great Northern, Thameslink, Greater Anglia, South Western Railway and Southeastern services.

A tannoy message at St Pancras Station stated that the gates were closed due to "massive overcrowding" at the Victoria platform following the incident.

Passengers took to social media to warn others of the disruption, urging them to seek alternative routes while the incident was ongoing.

One person wrote on X: "If anyone is looking to use Victoria line please find an alternative route cos it's locked off.

"Incident at Green Park station, so they got rid of everyone and closed the station and now I have to find a different way home ."
