Liverpool have multiple positions requiring reinforcement as the winter transfer window approaches. The Reds have endured a challenging campaign thus far, with doubts emerging over Arne Slot's ability to address the issues plaguing his squad.
That comes despite a mammoth £450million summer spending spree, with numerous marquee additions failing to make an immediate impression during their opening months at Anfield. January presents an opportunity to rectify some of these shortcomings, with multiple targets already emerging ahead of the upcoming window.
Antoine Semenyo appears to be one such serious contender for Liverpool in the coming months. Here's the latest regarding his potential switch from Bournemouth.

Liverpool's three-player wishlistLiverpool seem poised to act swiftly when the January transfer window opens, as multiple positions require attention before it closes in February. Reports suggest the Reds are keen on Semenyo, as they seek a winger capable of making an "immediate impact".
His displays at Bournemouth this season indicate he could fulfil that brief. That search sits alongside their pursuit of a centre-half, with Marc Guehi once again identified as a priority target, plus a possible new striker acquisition, subject to availability.
Bournemouth's release clauseWhilst Bournemouth are desperate to retain Semenyo for the remainder of the campaign, they may be unable to prevent Liverpool from securing his services. That is because, according to The Athletic, there is a release clause in the attacker's contract worth £65million, which clubs can trigger from January onwards.
However, that clause must be activated by a specific date to provide Bournemouth with sufficient time to source a replacement. That means Liverpool may need to move quickly and decisively in the transfer market to complete the deal before any competitors step in.
Whilst Liverpool are displaying significant interest in Semenyo, they are not the sole club monitoring him ahead of this January. That is because, according to Sky Sports, fellow Premier League outfits Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are also tracking the Bournemouth sensation.
Andoni Iraola on Semenyo's future Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola has also faced questioning regarding Semenyo's future, with doubts surrounding whether he will remain at the Vitality Stadium past the January transfer window. The Spaniard was dismissive of the speculation, however.
Iraola said: "We are in November, Antoine is our player, he will continue to be our player. In January, you can ask me about the market.
"But right now, I am not worried about the next market. I am not worried about the situation. In January, we will talk about whatever happened, the players we need."
