Udaipur (Read): NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has announced the launch of UPI Circle Full Delegation on the BHIM Payments App. This new feature allows users to authorise trusted contacts to make UPI payments from their account within a predefined monthly spending limit, ensuring transparency and full control.
With UPI Circle Full Delegation, a primary user can authorise a secondary user to initiate and complete UPI payments directly from the primary user’s bank account. The primary user can set a monthly spending limit of up to Rs 15,000 and an expiry duration of up to five years. This feature enables smoother day-to-day digital payments among families, dependents and staff, while maintaining real-time visibility of all transactions. It also allows trusted users to make digital payments without having their own bank-linked UPI ID or bank account.
Lalitha Nataraj, Managing Director and CEO, NBSL, said that with Full Delegation, UPI Circle moves beyond real-time approvals to enable trusted and autonomous payments within defined limits. She said the feature reflects the way Indian households and businesses function, based on trust, flexibility and accountability. She added that through such features, the BHIM Payments App continues to make digital transactions simpler, safer and more inclusive.
The new feature offers support for senior citizens by allowing them to make small-value transactions independently with authorisation from family members. It also enables parents to allow children to manage daily or educational expenses within a set monthly limit. Small business owners can authorise staff to make payments for operational expenses such as fuel and tolls with transparency. Working professionals can also provide payment access to dependents who are less familiar with digital platforms, with real-time monitoring.
UPI Circle is available on the latest version of the BHIM Payments App (Version 4.0.10) as part of the upgrade, which also includes features such as split expenses, family mode, spend analytics, multilingual support and a redesigned user experience. BHIM continues to operate as Bharat ka Apna Payments App with a focus on secure, scalable and inclusive digital payment solutions.
To use UPI Circle on BHIM, users need to open the BHIM Payments App and go to the UPI Circle section from the home screen, invite a contact to the circle, enter their UPI ID or scan their QR code, select full delegation with a monthly limit, verify their identity, set the spending limit and validity period, select a bank account and authorise using the UPI PIN. After acceptance by the secondary user and a short cooling period, payments can begin instantly.
