News India Live, Digital Desk: Winter season means the season of eating and drinking. Just hearing the name of hot parathas, carrot halwa, and laddus dipped in ghee makes the mouth water. Our appetite increases in cold, but we make a big mistake. We eat heavy food, but drink less water and move less due to cold. Result? Gas, heaviness in the stomach, sour belching and heartburn (acidity). If you are also searching for “Enno” or gas pill these days, then just wait. Ayurveda has a very cheap and effective treatment for your problem, and the interesting thing is that all of it is available in your kitchen. 1. Celery: The known enemy of gas. It was not for nothing that our elders used to say that if you have a stomach ache, eat ‘celery’. This is a panacea for gas. How to eat: Take a little celery, add a pinch of black salt to it and swallow it with warm water. The heaviness in the stomach will start feeling lighter within 10-15 minutes.2. Cumin water: A friend of digestion. Cumin is found in every vegetable, but it also works as a medicine. It soothes stomach irritation.Recipe: Add one spoon cumin seeds in a glass of water and boil it. When the water reduces to half or changes color, filter it and drink it slowly like tea. It cuts acidity from the roots.3. Fennel: Gives coolness to the stomach. Fennel seeds are often given after eating in restaurants, it is not just a mouth freshener. Fennel helps in digesting food. After meals, chew one spoonful of fennel seeds. This provides great relief from heartburn.4. Ginger: Not just for tea. Everyone drinks ginger tea in winters, but if gas is bothering you, then chew a small piece of ginger or take ginger juice with honey. It reduces abdominal swelling.5. Lukewarm water (most important) In winter we avoid drinking cold water and end up feeling thirsty. This is the biggest cause of acidity. Keep drinking lukewarm water throughout the day. It keeps the nerves of the stomach relaxed and the food gets easily digested. A little advice: Do not lie down under the quilt immediately after eating food. Walk at least 100 steps (Vajrasana or Walk). A little caution will keep you away from drugs and you will be able to enjoy the flavors of winter to the fullest!
