News India Live, Digital Desk: The month of December is upon us and the rosy cold is now turning into harsh winter. What is the biggest problem in such weather? I don’t feel like getting out of the quilt and when I get out, my whole body feels stiff. There is no flexibility in the muscles and sometimes back or neck pain starts while sitting. If you are also feeling the same, then there is no need to panic. There is such a wonderful asana in the world of yoga which is no less than a ‘warm-up’ for winter. Its name is ‘Ashwa Sanchalanasana’. It is also called Equestrian Pose or High Lunge in English. ‘Ashwa’ means horse and ‘operation’ means walking. That is, a posture that reminds of the agility and strength of a horse. After all, why this asana in winter? One of the 12 steps of Surya Namaskar, this asana is considered best for warming the body from within. Releases stiffness of muscles: Our muscles shrink in cold. This asana gives tremendous stretch to your hips, legs and spine, thereby opening up all the blockages. Excellent for lungs: When we look upwards in this pose and inhale deeply, our chest opens completely. This increases the flow of oxygen and provides relief from respiratory problems in winter. Reduces belly fat: We eat more fried foods in winter. Ashwa Sanchalanasana puts pressure on the abdominal organs, which improves digestion and also keeps belly fat under control. How to do this asana? (Easy way)It is very simple. You stand straight, take one leg back and bend the knee of the other leg. Rest the palms on the ground and keep the face upward. Feel as if you are getting ready to sprint. Wait in this position for a few seconds. You’ll feel a stretch in your waist and thighs—that’s the magic of this asana! Who shouldn’t? If you have severe pain in your knees or a lot of neck pain, do it with some care or under the supervision of an expert. So, don’t just sit under the quilt this winter. Start your morning with this ‘Horse Power’ posture and be full of energy all day long!
