Moosewala not only lent his voice to the track but also penned the lyrics and composed the music.

The song Barota, like the previous 11 tracks released after the artist's untimely demise, went viral soon after its release.

Within less than a day of being uploaded on YouTube, it garnered over 12 million views and 1.3 million likes.

The video features old footage of Moosewala and some AI-generated visuals as well, per Times Now.

Moosewala, 28, whose real name was Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, was shot dead in May 2022 by six assailants in Punjab's Mansa district.

His death came a day after his security cover was reduced.
