AI Teacher: A new example of increasing use of affordable AI solutions in the education sector has been presented. Aditya Kumar, a 17-year-old student from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, has built an Artificial Intelligence (AI) teacher robot, which he has named Sophie. LLM chipset has been used in this robot, which makes it capable of teaching.
Aditya exhibits Sophie in his school, where the robot introduces itself to everyone. “I am an AI teacher robot. My name is Sophie and I am created by Aditya,” Sophie said in Hindi. It is designed to create a suitable classroom environment and guide students in real time.
Aditya asked Sophie various questions, like the name of the first President and first Prime Minister of India. The robot answered correctly, stating that the first President is Dr. Rajendra Prasad and the first Prime Minister is Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
When asked if she was capable of teaching, Sophie said confidently, “Yes, I can teach well.” He also gave the definition of electricity while solving a math problem, which shows his good understanding of basic knowledge.
Aditya told that he has used LLM chipset in the construction of this robot, which is common even for big tech companies. He shared that currently Sophie can only communicate, but in the future such improvements will be made so that the robot can also write.
LLM chipsets or Large Language Models are hardware that are powered by GPUs, NPUs, and specialized AI accelerators. These are designed to handle high computing requirements and are essential for training models and performing inference rapidly.
