There will be plenty of action on day two of the Qatar Grand Prix weekend after Friday's running threw up some interesting results. Oscar Piastri finished ahead of Lando Norris in practice before beating him to pole position in Sprint qualifying, with George Russell separating the McLaren rivals in second place. Max Verstappen, meanwhile, was down in sixth and Lewis Hamilton was knocked out in the first session as he suffered more misery with Ferrari.

Piastri chipped away at the gap to Norris by winning the Sprint with some distance between himself and Russell in second place. Verstappen came home in fourth despite putting significant pressure on Norris in the early stages of the contest. All eyes will now turn to qualifying for Sunday's race as the weekend continues to heat up.
