New Delhi. Indian Railways has made a major change in the rules of Tatkal Ticket Booking, which will come into effect from 1st December i.e. today. Now OTP will come while booking tickets. Only after this the booking process will be completed. Western Railways has implemented this rule on selected trains. Later it will be implemented in all railway zones.


According to Railways, this system will start on Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express from December 1. The main objective of implementing this is to benefit such passengers who really want to travel immediately but are unable to get the ticket.

Keeping this problem in mind, the Railway Board has approved the OTP based Tatkal ticket system. The ticket will be issued only after entering the OTP received on the mobile number registered at the time of booking. This will make it impossible to use fake or incorrect mobile numbers and only those passengers whose mobile number is active and verified will be able to book tickets.


The real name of the caller will be visible
The facility to display the real name of the caller on the screen of mobile or landline phone (CNAP) may start from December 15. The Department of Telecommunications has given instructions to telecom companies to implement this facility in the entire country. This will eliminate the need for third party apps. In this new system, the same name of the caller will be visible which he had filled in his consumer application form.


SBI increased ATM withdrawal charges
State Bank of India has changed the service charges of ATM and Automated Deposit cum Withdrawal Machine transactions from December 1. Only 10 ATM transactions will be free for salary account holders. After this it will cost Rs 23. Non-financial transactions will be charged Rs 11. Savings account holding customers will get five free transactions. After this you will have to pay Rs 23. On non-financial transactions, the charge will increase from Rs 10 to Rs 11.

1. Keep the mobile number updated before booking.
2. Make sure that the number is active on the IRCTC website.
3. Do not enter any other person’s number during cut booking.
4. Once OTP is sent, the mobile number will not be changed.
