The first day of the Winter Session in the Lok Sabha continued to be marred by chaos as the House was adjourned once again, this time till 2 pm. The adjournment came just moments before Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was set to introduce an important bill, but the proceedings were halted due to persistent protests from the Opposition.

Opposition MPs have been creating uproar since the morning, raising slogans and disrupting the session over the SIR issue. Members repeatedly stormed the well of the House, preventing the government from taking up scheduled legislative business. Speaker Om Birla attempted to restore order, but the disruptions escalated, leaving no choice but to pause the proceedings.

The continuous ruckus has resulted in multiple adjournments on Day 1, signalling a turbulent start to the Winter Session. With several key bills on the agenda and the government keen to push forward its legislative plan, tensions between the Opposition and treasury benches have sharply intensified.

The Lok Sabha is scheduled to reconvene at 2 pm, though uncertainty remains over whether normal business will resume smoothly or whether further disruptions will follow.
