Chhattisgarh News: The state government has started the Mukhyamantri Nagrotthan Yojana this year for iconic development works in the cities of Chhattisgarh. In the first phase, it has been implemented in all the 14 municipal corporations of the state. Under this, major works for development of strong infrastructure in cities are being sanctioned. After the approval of Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Arun Sao, till now Rs 429 crore 45 lakh has been sanctioned for 26 works in 13 municipal corporations under the scheme. These include major works like Marine Drive expansion, Oxygen-cum-Sports Complex, Interstate Bus Terminal, Road Junction, Hi-Tech Bus Stand, Auditorium, Pond Beautification, Garden Development, Water Supply Strengthening, Corridor Construction, Gaurav Path Construction, Road Bypass and Widening. A budget of Rs 500 crore has been kept for the scheme in the current financial year 2025-26. Out of the approved works, work orders have been issued to the concerned firms for five works. Bhoomipujan of five works has also been done.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said about the ambitious Chief Minister City Development Scheme of the state government that this scheme will bring a big change in the infrastructure development of cities. This plan has been prepared keeping in mind the sustainable development of cities and citizen-centric solutions. This scheme will prove to be effective in making the cities of Chhattisgarh modern, beautiful and vibrant. It will play an important role in changing the face and character of cities. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao said that as per the action plan included in this year’s budget for the construction of vibrant cities and ease of living, the Mukhyamantri Nagrotthan Yojana has been started. In the first phase, all the municipal corporations of the state have been included in it. It will be implemented in all urban bodies in a phased manner. Through the scheme, construction, widening of main roads, bypass roads, fly-overs, service lanes, under-passes and other infrastructure will be developed for smooth traffic in view of the increasing population in cities. River-front development and grand gardens will also be constructed under the scheme to make the cities of the state beautiful, modern, organized and eco-friendly. Such iconic works and projects will be taken up in the plan which can become an example of the development of the city.
These works will be done under Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme
Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme mainly includes main road construction and main road widening work, bypass road construction, service road construction work on main road, fly-over construction work, under-pass road construction work, water supply scheme work, sewerage network construction work, integrated solid waste management work, rotary square construction and rearrangement work on main roads, sports complex construction, hi-tech bus stand construction, auditorium construction, grand garden development and river-front development work and Work will be done to develop tourist places. Along with these, other specific works will also be done as per the need of the city.
A committee formed under the chairmanship of the Collector will monitor
The monitoring and monitoring of the works of the Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme will be done by the district level committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Collector. The committee will regularly review the progressing work and ensure quality work within the time limit. The Commissioner of the concerned Municipal Corporation will be the member-cum-secretary of the committee. In the district, the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department and the Executive Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department will be other members of the committee.
Works worth Rs 91.27 crore in Raipur, Rs 64.66 crore in Raigarh and Rs 57.92 crore in Bilaspur, Rs 36.55 crore for Gaurav Path in Korba.
Four works worth a total of Rs 91 crore 27 lakh have been approved in Raipur Municipal Corporation under the Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme. These include development of 18 road junctions at a cost of Rs 9 crore 2 lakh, strengthening of water supply system at a cost of Rs 23 crore 38 lakh, Mahadev Ghat Revival Scheme Phase-1 worth Rs 18 crore 86 lakh and construction of a technical tower worth Rs 40 crore in Telibandha. Three works worth a total of Rs 64 crore 66 lakh have been approved in Raigarh Municipal Corporation. These include Marine Drive extension from New Shani Mandir to Chhathghat worth Rs 29 crore 57 lakh, FCI project worth Rs 12 crore 81 lakh. This includes Oxygen-cum-Sports Complex development work and upgradation work of New Sarangarh Bus Stand (Interstate Bus Terminal) worth Rs 22 crore 28 lakh.
Under the scheme, nine works worth a total of Rs 57 crore 92 lakh have been approved in Bilaspur Municipal Corporation. These include widening of Ashok Nagar-Birkoni Road worth Rs 17 crore, construction of Atal Path from Arpa Indra Setu to Ram Setu worth Rs 9 crore 74 lakh, construction of road from Mangala Chowk to Azad Chowk worth Rs 5 crore 9 lakh, asphalting and drain construction from Guru Nanak Chowk to Mopka/Rajkishore Nagar Tiraha worth Rs 5 crore 26 lakh, beautification of Rakbandha Pond Uslapur worth Rs 2 crore 22 lakh, six Construction of CC road and drain in Sirgitti area worth Rs 82 lakh crore and CC road development work under Zone-7 worth Rs 1 crore 70 lakh are included. An amount of Rs 6 crore 48 lakh has been sanctioned for the construction of CC road and drain in Tifra and an amount of more than Rs 3 crore 62 lakh has been sanctioned for the replacement of street lights and electric light poles in the city. Rs 36 crore 55 lakh has been sanctioned for the construction of Gaurav Path from CSEB Chowk to Jain Chowk – ITI Chowk to Kosabadi Chowk in Korba.
Hi-tech bus stand and auditorium will be built in Dhamtari, Rs 11.6 crore for Maa Mahamaya Corridor in Ambikapur
Under the scheme, a total of Rs 24 crore 64 lakh has been sanctioned for two works in Dhamtari Municipal Corporation. These include construction of a new hi-tech bus stand worth Rs 17 crore 70 lakh and construction of an auditorium worth Rs 6 crore 94 lakh. A total of Rs 19 crore 95 lakh has been sanctioned for two works in Jagdalpur Municipal Corporation also. These include widening of the road from Muktidham to Lalbagh Amaguda Chowk via Samudra Chowk, Power House Chowk, Panchpath Chowk worth Rs 10 crore 6 lakh and Dalpat Sagar development and beautification work worth Rs 9 crore 89 lakh. An amount of more than Rs 24 crore 75 lakh has been sanctioned for two works in Birgaon Municipal Corporation. These include construction of Urla drain (5.08 km) at a cost of Rs 7 crore 90 lakh and construction of road from Shani Mandir to Kanhera Mod via filter plant at a cost of Rs 16 crore 85 lakh.
A total of Rs 14 crore 84 lakh has been sanctioned by the Urban Administration Department for four works in Chirmiri Municipal Corporation under the scheme. These include construction of bypass from Sonamali Naka to Deendayal Chowk Pauri worth Rs 8 crore 65 lakh, development and beautification near Korea Colliery Branch Shiv Mandir worth Rs 3 crore 57 lakh, road widening from Atal Complex to Malviya Nagar in Podi West Chirmiri worth Rs 69 lakh and road widening work worth Rs 1 crore 93 lakh from Ahimsa Chowk Haldiwadi to Agrasen Chowk Bada Bazaar. A total of Rs 13 crore 99 lakh has been sanctioned for two works in Ambikapur Municipal Corporation. These include development of Pushpavatika Sargaon Park at a cost of Rs 2 crore 39 lakh and strengthening of water supply system as well as construction of Maa Mahamaya Corridor at a cost of Rs 11 crore 60 lakh.
Canal road will be built in Bhilai-Charoda, Rs 17.33 crore for development and widening of three roads in Risali.
In Durg Municipal Corporation, construction of four lane from Dhamdha Marg via Aditya Nagar towards Raipur Naka under-bridge and up to Junwani Road via Hanuman Nagar at a cost of Rs 9 crore 84 lakh, in Bhilai-Charoda Municipal Corporation, Rs 29 crore 43 lakh for construction of canal road from Dabhra Para to Indranagar and Rs 24 crore 30 lakh for 24 works in Bhilai Municipal Corporation have been approved from the Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme. A total of Rs 17 crore 33 lakh has been sanctioned for three works in Risali Municipal Corporation. These include Rs 5 crore 21 lakh, Rs 7 crore 97 lakh and Rs 4 crore 15 lakh respectively for the development and widening of the road from Maitri Kunj to Madhurisha Phase-3, from Azad Chowk to Krishna Talkies Road and from Shri Ram Chowk to Balaji Apartment (Ward No. 23).
