Netflix Cast Feature: under silent update netflix Smart from its mobile app TV And the facility to cast content on streaming devices has been discontinued. Many users have complained that they are no longer able to see the Cast icon in the app. The company has not made any official announcement on this change, but has added information about it on its support page. The special thing is that removing this feature directly affects new Chromecast and Google TV Streamer users.
Netflix’s mobile casting feature was extremely helpful for users who have limited storage on their smart TVs or who prefer to browse content from their mobile. With the help of this feature, it was possible to play shows and movies directly from the phone without installing the Netflix app on the TV. But according to a new support page update, this support has now been ended for most TVs and TV-streaming devices. This change was first noticed by Android Authority.
Casting from the mobile app will now be completely stopped on these devices. Many users say that the Cast icon has suddenly disappeared from their app, while some are still seeing it but hopefully it will be removed from everyone soon.
For the first time on Reddit, a user named u/DavidinCincinnati reported that the Cast option has disappeared from his Netflix app. After this many users also shared the same problem.
Another Reddit user u/freetherabbit reported that Netflix customer support told them: “If your device comes with its own remote, casting will not be allowed.” The casting feature was previously not available in ad-supported Netflix plans. Now due to this new change, even users with regular plans have been deprived of this feature, due to which the resentment has increased further.
