Big change in women's safety

Women safety was a big challenge in Uttar Pradesh before 2017. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath implemented the policy of zero tolerance against criminals. The result was that rule of law was established in the state and goons and mafia were driven out of the state.

Mission Shakti has proved particularly beneficial for rural women. Many schemes are being run to provide employment to women. BC Sakhi Yojana has given respectable employment to thousands of women. These BC Sakhis are providing door-to-door banking services, thereby providing timely transactions, benefits of government schemes and financial literacy to rural families. She has now become a source of inspiration in her community.

Increasing participation of women in the labor sector

Due to the policies of Yogi government, the labor participation rate of women in the state has increased from 14% in 2017 to 36% in 2023-24. The WEE (Women Economic Empowerment) Index report also shows that women are now working in a better and safer environment than before.

Self-reliance of women increased through ODOP scheme

Yogi government's ODOP (One District One Product) scheme has provided extensive employment opportunities to women. Efforts to connect handicrafts, handloom, food processing and traditional arts with national and global markets have provided better branding, new markets and higher income opportunities to women artisans and entrepreneurs. Be it Chikankari or clay art – every skill is getting a modern platform.
