Winter Tips for Basil Plant: As winter approaches, the basil plant starts drying up, the leaves turn yellow and gradually start drying up. This happens because Tulsi is a hot and sun-loving plant, which does not suit cold wind, fog and low temperature at all. The roots of basil get damaged in temperatures below 15°C, due to which the growth of the plant stops. Strong cold wind directly damages the leaves and they start drying. If cold falls on basil at night, the leaves turn black and start falling. Therefore, it is important to protect Tulsi from cold and keep it warm in winter.

Sunlight is less in winter, whereas Tulsi needs at least four to five hours of direct sunlight. Keeping the plant in the north or east direction sunlight prevents it from spoiling quickly. If it is very cold outside, keep the plant indoors after evening.
