Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone recently demanded an eight-hour workday. Following this, she reportedly had to withdraw from the Telugu films "Spirit" and "Kalki 2898 AD." The issue has been widely debated. Almost all actors have differing opinions on the matter. Rana Daggubati, Dulquer Salmaan, and "Got" producer Archana Kalpathi have expressed their views on the matter.
Rana Daggubati's Statement on Eight-Hour Shifts
During an interview with THR India, Rana Daggubati was asked about working eight-hour shifts. He replied, "It's not a job, it's a way of life. You either choose to be in it or not. Every film demands something else from you. It's not a factory. It's not like we'll sit for eight hours, and the best work will come out."
Salman said, "I can't do much."
On the issue of eight-hour shifts, Dulquer Salmaan told THR India that long working hours are common in the Malayalam film industry. He said, "In Malayalam, you just keep working. You never know when the work will end. But it's exhausting. When I did my first Telugu film (Mahanati in 2018), it was the first time in my acting career that I was able to go home by six o'clock. I thought that when I became a producer, things would be different. However, we can't do much. Working an extra hour a day is better than shooting an extra day."
Archana Kalpathy expressed her opinion.
Archana also joined the conversation, saying that a 9-5 schedule is "not possible" in cinema. She explained that big-budget films often require shooting during holidays.

Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati recently starred in and produced "Kaantha." The film was released on November 14th. It received positive reviews but failed to make much of an impact at the box office.
