Punjab News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today presented the state as the most preferred investment destination before leading Japanese industrialists and invited them to invest in Punjab for their business expansion. On the first day of his visit to Japan, the Chief Minister visited JBIC, Eisen Industry, Yamaha, Honda Motor, JICA. Interacted with Director General of South Asia Department, Toray Industries, Parliamentary Deputy Minister of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Fujitsu Limited and other representatives. During the discussion, Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed his desire to enhance strategic cooperation with Japan in key areas such as advanced manufacturing, mobility, electronics, food processing, renewable energy and global services. Inviting Japanese companies to explore the new opportunities emerging in the state, he said that the future of Punjab is being reshaped according to the needs of these sectors.




The Chief Minister invited investors to attend the 6th Progressive Punjab Investors Summit to be held at ISB Mohali Campus from 13–15 March 2026. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this conference will showcase the progress of Punjab and will present new opportunities for partnership and cooperation by bringing the world’s biggest industries on one platform. He reiterated that Punjab and Japan can establish strong business relations based on trust, quality and long-term commitment and the state government is fully dedicated to further strengthening these relations. Sharing his vision, the Chief Minister said that the State Government is committed to building a shared future of development and prosperity through strong economic and cultural ties. He said that the land of Punjab is known for its courage, resilience, hard work, entrepreneurship, creativity and mutual brotherhood. He said that the state has always played an important role in the development of India, especially in making the country self-reliant in food grain production. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that today Punjab is moving forward with a new vision towards becoming a leading center for modern industries, technology and global cooperation.



Noting Punjab’s strong and productive ties with Japanese industry, the Chief Minister extended a warm invitation to Japanese companies to be a part of the next phase of Punjab’s changing industrial environment. He said that the value system of trust, discipline and long-term partnership lies in the foundation of both Punjab and Japan, which can prove to be extremely beneficial for the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann pointed out that many Japanese companies have already achieved remarkable success with their business in Punjab and now more reputed companies are also showing confidence and interest in investing in the state. During this, on the invitation of the Chief Minister, Japanese companies expressed keen interest in investing in Punjab. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that such investments will not only create employment opportunities for the youth but will also give further impetus to the economic progress of the state. He assured that the State Government will provide full support and cooperation to Japanese investors at every level and the need of the hour is to further encourage industrial development in the State.
