New Delhi: Former great Indian cricket spinner Harbhajan Singh has recently expressed his clear opinion about the future of key players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He has commented strongly on those who are trying to bring about a change in the career of these players.
Harbhajan believes that the same people who did not do anything special in their career are today trying to decide the fate of these legendary players. Note that in recent times, discussions about dropping Rohit and Virat from the team have intensified.
Harbhajan said, “It is a bit worrying that people who have not done anything special in their playing career are determining the future of players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.”
He further said, “Both the players are still in excellent form. Rohit Sharma recently scored the most runs in the Test series against Australia and became the Player of the Series. Whereas, Virat Kohli scored two consecutive centuries in the ODI series against South Africa. Still, questions are being raised on his future.”
Harbhajan shared that “I have also been a player, and this has happened to me too. This has been seen with many of my fellow players too. However, we do not discuss this openly. It is very unfortunate.”
Harbhajan praised both the seniors, saying, “Both of them have always been scoring runs and are one of the important players for India. I am happy that they are still batting so impressively. Not just for their performances, but they are setting an example for the new generation of what it takes to become champions.”
Harbhajan did not take the name of any particular person during this time, but many fans believe that he was referring to former Indian cricketer and chief selector Ajit Agarkar. Agarkar had earlier said that it is not certain that Kohli and Rohit will play in the World Cup 2027, due to which Harbhajan’s statement is being linked with him.
