If there’s one thing you can count on Lily Allen for, it's her ability to mix and match high end and high street pieces in her outfits. Notorious for combining elegant evening dresses with trainers, or vintage denim with luxury handbags, her distinct style is one thing we all know and love about her.

Which is why it was no surprise when she was spotted on the streets of London carrying a bag that looked like it could be designer, but turned out to be from the high street. The West End Girl singer was seen with Dune’s large Deliberate shoulder bag, which bears a striking resemblance to Bottega Veneta’s large Hop Tote Bag.

Just like the Bottega bag, Lily’s Dune Deliberate shoulder bag has a woven leather texture, with a slouchy silhouette and is oversized enough to carry around all your essentials, not to mention plenty of “just in case” items. However unlike the designer one, which has a price tag of £3990, the Dune one is ultra affordable, costing just £129. It is made from faux leather though, rather than real leather like Bottega’s, which helps keep the price lower.

As well as being easier on your bank balance, the Dune bag is ultra practical and is great for everything from running errands to taking to work. It’s big enough to fit a laptop inside, with dimensions measuring 16cm high, 46cm wide and 12cm deep.

And if that’s not big enough, you can also snap up the XL version for £149. Coming in at 38cm high, 50cm wide and 10cm deep, it’s the perfect size for carrying everything you might need during the day, or even as a chic version of an overnight bag.

Lily opted for the sage green version for her London outing, which is currently unavailable, although the Dune website shows that stock is expected on December 30. However there are still plenty of other colourways still in stock, including burgundy, brown, and khaki green snake print.

If you did want a green version similar to Lily’s, Accessorize’s slightly smaller Woven Shoulder Bag is on sale for £31.50, down from £45 and is the perfect everyday bag for taking out and about with you. Alternatively you could head to Anthropologie and snap up the £115 Woven Faux-Leather Oversized Slouchy Tote Bag which has been called: “such a good luxury dupe and looks way more expensive than it is” by reviewers.

However Dune’s Deliberate shoulder bag also has plenty of glowing reviews, with a 4.8 star rating. One said: “Very nice bag super quality soft and easy to wear. Love the variety of colours and sizes too. Price is also very reasonable compared similar bags costing over thousands.”

Another wrote: “Lovely handbag great price.”

Some did find some faults though, with one shopper saying: “Thought I’d love this style of bag, but find it gapes open as the stud is not easy to close, so purse etc on show… Also as it’s synthetic the strap slips off shoulder!”

Another added: “Bag not as squishy as it looks in pics, a little more rigid tho that might fix over time. It is a lovely bag but I’m just not quite sure that it meets the expensive price tag.”

However others raved about it, saying: “Love this bag can pop a lot in. My laptop is slightly bulkier so doesn’t fit in properly but an iPad etc can easily go in. Colour is lovely too looks nice.”
