Some journeys begin on grand stages, while others start inside the quiet corners of childhood. For Satyaa Sachee actor Akash Khandelwal , the spark for acting was lit long before he ever faced a camera. It began in his living room, in front of a television screen, when a little boy watched Shah Rukh Khan make an unforgettable entry in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. “I still remember the first time I saw Shah Rukh Khan on screen, jumping out of a helicopter and running toward that big mansion. I was just three or four years old, but I couldn’t take my eyes off him,” Akash recalls. “And before I even understood what acting was, I started copying him.”



Akash admits that his love for performance was never forced. It simply flowed out of him. He would practise expressions in the mirror before school, dance freely in his room, and constantly try to entertain those around him. “As I grew up, I slowly realised that everything I had been doing since childhood was actually acting. That’s when it hit me, this is what I want to do forever,” he shares with a smile.

Even today, when Akash looks back, he doesn’t see a beginning marked by auditions or rehearsals. “My journey didn’t start on a set. It started at home, in small, innocent moments. That’s why when someone asks me how long I’ve been acting, I say: more than twenty years. Emotions make us human, and acting allows me to explore every shade of those emotions. That’s what draws me to this art over and over again.”

In Satyaa Sachee, Akash plays the role of Shaurya in a story that revolves around two sisters from a small village — Satyaa, fearless and bold, and Sachee, gentle and selfless. Their bond is not just built on blood, but on an unspoken promise of protection and unconditional love. No matter the challenges life throws at them, the sisters stand unshaken, proving that true strength lies in togetherness.
