Fiona Mallinson is a former cabin crew member with over 16 years of experience. Her career has taken her across the globe, from stunning Caribbean islands to the icy landscapes of Greenland, and she's now offering her industry expertise.
The flight attendant shared useful advice for long-haul passengers and revealed what the worst seat on he plane is. She said: "If you're travelling business class, I would never sit at the back." While this might seem counterintuitive to some travellers, the rear section of business class "backs on to the economy cabin, and in that economy cabin, the front is where they put the baby bassinet".
Forking out for business class only to find yourself next to crying infants is hardly what passengers expect when they're paying premium prices.
Fiona continued: "If you're at the back of business class, it's very likely you're going to have a baby right behind you, in economy class.
"It varies slightly from airline to airline, but as a general rule, that's often the way it works out. I know I've been that person in economy with a screaming baby at the front.
"There's nothing worse than being the person in business class with a screaming baby behind the curtain, essentially."
Some people think that the worst seat on the plane is the one "next to the toilet", but according to flight attendant Maria, "the worst [row] is the one before the emergency exit row. This is because not only do you not have extra legroom, but it also doesn't recline".
She explained on her TikTok channel @MarlemGlobetrotter: "The second worst is the first of the two exit rows, because this also doesn't recline!"
