In this series, two veteran players of the Indian team, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma performed brilliantly. Even though both of them now play only in ODIs, their presence in the team means a lot. Virat Kohli scored a total of 302 runs in three matches, which included two centuries and one half-century. Whereas, Rohit Sharma scored 146 runs and scored two half-centuries. Both these players appeared in India's last ODI series for 2025. In such a situation, the question is arising that when will the Ro-Ko (Rohit-Kohli) pair be seen playing next time?

When will Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli play next?

There will be 5 T20I matches between India and South Africa from 9th December. But Virat and Rohit can play next time in ODI in January 2026. Their next series will be against New Zealand, in which three ODIs will be played.

The first match of the three-match series will be played in Baroda on 11 January 2026. The second match will be held in Rajkot on 14 January 2026 and the third match will be held in Indore on 18 January 2026. After this, Virat and Rohit will stay away from international cricket for about six months and will be seen in the field again only after the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Preparation of Rohit and Virat

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli can play Vijay Hazare Trophy for their respective home teams before the New Zealand series. Rohit will play for Mumbai and Virat for Delhi. This tournament will start from 24th December 2025 and will help both the players to stay in form for international cricket.

Note: The Future Tours Program (FTP) after March 2027 is yet to be decided. Apart from this, more bilateral series will be played to prepare for the World Cup and Asia Cup.
