Ranchi: PESA rules will soon be implemented in Jharkhand. The draft of PESA rules has been sent to the Cabinet Department by the Panchayati Raj Department. The Cabinet Department has sent the draft to Chief Minister Hemant Soren for approval. It has been told that as soon as the CM’s approval is received, it will be placed in the cabinet meeting.

A cabinet meeting has been scheduled for Monday at 2 pm. Sources said that the proposal can be brought on Monday. As soon as the proposal is passed by the Cabinet, PESA rules will be implemented in the entire state. Jharkhand High Court has already directed the government to implement the PESA rules as soon as possible. With the implementation of PESA rules, operation of sand ghats has also been banned. Auction of sand ghats has been held in 18 districts. But due to PESA, sand is not being extracted legally. It has been told that the government is planning to implement the PESA rules during the winter session of the Assembly itself, so that it can answer the opposition in the Assembly as well.
