Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today participated in the public conference organized at Kedareshwar Maidan in Kapkot on the second day of his visit to Bageshwar. Here he was given a warm welcome, garlands were laid and the crowd present enthusiastically greeted the Chief Minister. A huge crowd of people gathered in the ground, praising the work of the government.
Chief Minister Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 42 schemes worth a total of Rs 108 crore. This includes inauguration of 24 schemes worth Rs 62 crore and laying of foundation stone of 18 schemes worth Rs 45.95 crore. The program started with captivating cultural presentations by school children, which filled the entire atmosphere with enthusiasm.
In his address, Chief Minister Dhami said that such a large presence of the public proves that the state government is walking on the right path of development. He informed that many welfare schemes are running for the poor, women and youth. Under the ‘Manas Khand Mala’ project, renovation and beautification of religious places is happening rapidly.
The Chief Minister said that the new initiative of winter tourism will increase tourism throughout the year and local people will get employment on a large scale. The government is working on the policy of zero tolerance. Under the One District-Two Product Scheme, the traditional copper craft of Bageshwar is getting recognition at the national level. The work of conservation of Saryu and Gomti rivers is going on continuously, while the survey of Bageshwar railway line has been completed. Garuda Hospital will be upgraded so that local people get better health facilities.
In the programme, checks for financial assistance were distributed to various self-help groups and cooperatives. Checks of Rs 3 crore 23 lakh were given to Sankalp Autonomous Cooperative Group CLF (Harshila), Rs 22 lakh 50 thousand to Urja Autonomous Cooperative CLF, Rs 5 lakh each were given to Samvad Mahila Self Help Group of NRLM and Jai Golu Devta Self Help Group.
Agriculture, horticulture, silk, cooperation, rural development, women empowerment, dairy, animal husbandry and industry departments set up stalls at the venue. Here people were given detailed information about the schemes. The Chief Minister visited the stalls, talked to local handicraftsmen, listened to their problems and praised their work.
In the program, District Magistrate Akanksha Konde, District Panchayat President Shobha Arya, Kapkot MLA Suresh Gadiya, Bageshwar MLA Parvati Das, Minister of State for Status Bhupesh Upadhyay, Shiv Singh Visht, District Panchayat Vice President Vishakha Khetwal, former Cabinet Minister Balwant Singh Bhaunryal, BJP District President Prabha Gadiya, Municipality President Suresh Khetwal, SP Chandra Singh Ghodke, CDO R.C. A large number of local people including Tiwari were present.
