Lucknow, 8 December. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday appealed to the citizens to remain alert and verify the identity of any person before appointing them for domestic or business work. Yogi said that security, social balance and strong law and order of Uttar Pradesh are the top priorities of the government. He said that a strict and decisive campaign is being conducted against Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators living illegally in the state.
The Chief Minister has made this appeal at a time when, on his instructions, action against infiltrators has been intensified in the entire state since last week. “The Supreme Court has made a very important observation during the hearing that a red carpet cannot be rolled out for infiltrators,” he said in a post on It is clear that infiltrators are not acceptable at any cost.”
He said that the rights over resources belong to the citizens, not to the infiltrators. He stressed that maintaining the security and social balance of the state is the top priority of the government. The Chief Minister said that an intensive campaign has been launched against Rohingya and Bangladeshi citizens living illegally in the state and all urban local bodies have been directed to identify suspected foreign citizens and prepare a list.
He said that it is necessary to remove unauthorized burden on public resources and the benefits of welfare schemes cannot be prevented from reaching the underprivileged, for this purpose a special campaign of document verification is being conducted and identified infiltrators are being sent to detention centers for further action.
The Chief Minister said that such centers are being established in every division. Appealing to the public, Yogi Adityanath said that before appointing any person for domestic or business work, his identity must be verified. “The security of the state is our collective responsibility, because security is the foundation of prosperity,” he said.
On December 2, the Supreme Court had questioned the legal status of the Rohingya living in India and asked why the “infiltrators” should be given a “red carpet welcome” when the country’s own citizens are struggling with poverty.
