8th Pay Commission: About 50.14 lakh central employees and 69 lakh pensioners across the country have been waiting for the 8th Pay Commission for a long time. Everyone has the same question – when will the 8th Pay Commission be implemented? When an answer was sought from the government on this in the winter session of Parliament, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary gave clear information. He informed that the 8th Pay Commission has been officially constituted, and its Terms of Reference (ToR) has been released on 3 November 2025.

The Central Government was asked in Parliament whether Will the recommendations of 8th Pay Commission be applicable from January 1, 2026?
The government said-The date of implementation will be decided later.

The government also said that The budget of 8th Pay Commission will be made only thenwhen its final recommendations will be accepted by the government.

• After that the process of budget and final approval will start.

The Commission will prepare its own methodology and method of calculation.

Final report will have to be submitted within 18 months
