New Delhi: Indian team’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill was recently the victim of an injury. He suffered this injury during the first Test match played against South Africa in Kolkata, due to which he had to be ruled out of the series.

Gill was absent not only from the Test matches but also from the ODI series. Now, ahead of the T20 series starting on December 9, Gill is back and ready to play for Team India once again. A video of his recovery has been shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Shubman Gill’s injury and medical procedure

Gill suffered an injury due to a cramp in his neck during the game, due to which he could not continue batting and was out of the match. After scanning his injury, it was revealed that it was serious, following which he was sent to the BCCI’s Center of Excellence. Now, after recovery, Gill has returned to the game and BCCI has shared the video of the same.

Gill shared his journey

BCCI has shared a video on its official X account, in which Gill talked about his fitness journey. “Ever since I came here, I have continuously worked on my fitness. I have also taken part in skill sessions and now I am feeling much better,” he said.

Gill further said, “It is very positive for a player to have such facilities. It is possible to stay mentally and physically fit here. When we used to play Under-16 or Under-17 cricket, we used to go to NCA, and now there are excellent facilities available here. One can develop mentally and physically while training with the coaches.

T20 series begins

A 5-match T20 series is to be organized between India and South Africa, which will start from December 9. The first match of this series will be played in Cuttack, and in this match Shubman Gill will return to Team India.
