The university recorded performance indicators that significantly exceeded the industry average across all five stages of the Employer Brand Health Check model in its first year of participation.
According to the Employer Brand Health Check report, BUV achieved an Attention score of 83.6%, surpassing the sector benchmark of 75%. In the Interest stage, 6.7% of sector talent considered it a potential employer. Notably, 3.8% were ready to take action and apply, higher than the sector average of 1.5%. Furthermore, 2.5% of respondents perceived BUV as an “ideal place to work,” nearly three times the market average.
The report highlights several key drivers behind BUV’s strong employer appeal: a transparent international working environment, a culture of respect and diversity, clear development pathways, integrity as a core value, and a modern, secure workplace. Exceeding the sector average across all five stages—Attention, Interest, Action, Desire, and First Choice—indicates that BUV’s employer image has advanced well beyond simple awareness, moving directly into the group of organizations perceived as a highly desirable place to work.

The ranking “Vietnam’s 100 Best Places to Work” has been conducted annually by Anphabe, a consultancy specializing in employer branding, for the past 12 years. The program is endorsed by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and verified by market research firm Intage Vietnam. The 2025 survey gathered responses from 73,000 individuals, including over 7,000 students, evaluating more than 650 companies across 18 industries.
Tran Thi Lan Huong, Director of Human Resources at BUV, stated that the university employs a holistic employee life cycle approach, rather than focusing solely on talent attraction. Each stage, from onboarding to development and engagement, is designed to unlock individual potential while strengthening commitment and contributing to the organization’s sustainable growth.
As an international environment with staff from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, BUV notes that its workforce requires a flexible management approach. The majority of its employees hold advanced academic qualifications, and 100% of its lecturers possess international degrees, forming a highly skilled and diverse workforce.
In learning and development, the university deploys a multi-layered training framework. Regular professional development courses, management training, and workshops on mental well-being, innovation, and global-working competencies are implemented to enable staff to strengthen their capabilities and adapt to the dynamics of the digital era. BUV upholds a culture of lifelong learning as a core value, which supports operational agility and strengthens cross-department collaboration.

BUV also places strong emphasis on cultivating a cohesive and diverse internal community. Activities such as team-building events, sports tournaments, and community service initiatives serve as cultural anchors, helping the multinational workforce connect and strengthen shared values. Quarterly and annual recognition awards honor outstanding individuals and teams, fostering motivation and continuous growth.
In terms of employee benefits, BUV adopts a comprehensive policy framework that supports both physical and mental well-being. This includes premium healthcare coverage, annual health check-ups, flexible leave policies, and a performance-based reward scheme. A modern, environmentally conscious workplace, combined with a transparent, respectful, and inclusive code of conduct, aims to ensure that employees feel empowered, heard, and valued.

Professor Rick Bennett, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice President of BUV, emphasized the shift in focus from merely attracting talent to nurturing and developing people for the long term. He noted that a strong working environment, which is well-governed and effectively managed, is a criterion that has contributed to BUV maintaining its QS 5-Star overall rating for the second cycle and for six consecutive years.
BUV’s people strategy aims to build a long-term development pathway for individuals who choose to grow and contribute within the institution, working toward its goals of becoming a leading international university in Vietnam and the surrounding regions and ultimately entering the Top 100 universities in Asia.
