New Delhi: Indian women’s cricket team’s leading opener Smriti Mandhana and renowned musician Palash Muchhal’s relationship has attracted a lot of attention in recent months. Their engagement and marriage prospects had created a stir on social media.

However, a shocking news has come that their marriage has been cancelled. Soon after, Palash Muchhal took a step that made it clear that there was no hope left in this relationship.

Hours after the official announcement of the wedding being cancelled, Palash deleted all the photos and videos with Smriti from his Instagram account. These included the famous proposal video, which was recorded at the DY Patil Stadium.

In this video, Palash was seen sitting on his knees and putting the ring on Smriti, while the entire stadium was clapping. Apart from this, there were also pictures of the celebration of the Women’s T20 World Cup victory. In one stroke all the happiness disappeared from social media.

Wedding excitement and sudden interruption

They were going to get married on 23 November in Sangli, Maharashtra. The cards had also been printed and the guest list was ready. Fans were eagerly waiting for this union of cricket and Bollywood.

However, early in the morning on the wedding day, news came that Smriti’s father Srinivasan Mandhana suddenly fell ill. He was immediately taken to the hospital, due to which the wedding had to be postponed indefinitely.

After this incident, many rumors started spreading on social media. Some people said that during the wedding preparations, Palash’s name had come up in a controversy to a female choreographer. This news spread so fast that it started trending within a few hours. However, the choreographer dismissed these rumors outright.

On Sunday, Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal issued separate statements, in which they clarified that their marriage has now been canceled forever. Smriti said that both the families have taken this decision with mutual consent.

He requested everyone to respect their privacy. Palash also appealed for peace and said that unnecessary comments should not be made on personal life.
