Bengaluru: As the IndiGo operational crisis continues to cause large-scale flight cancellations and delays across the country, countless passengers have taken to social media to document missed connections, long queues and lost baggage. Amid widespread frustration, however, one flyer’s unusually smooth experience has drawn attention online — precisely because it appears so rare.

Flyer claims on-time departure and early arrival

X (formerly Twitter) user Kanika (@DalRotiForLife) shared that her IndiGo flight from Jodhpur to Bengaluru not only took off on time but even landed ahead of schedule. She added that she received her checked-in luggage without any issues, calling the experience so unexpectedly seamless that she felt like “God’s favourite child”.

Her post stands in stark contrast to countless viral clips showing passenger chaos, delays stretching several hours, and complaints of mismanaged or misplaced baggage during the ongoing disruption.

Social media reacts with disbelief and humour

Given the present chaos, several users expressed surprise at Kanika’s smooth journey. Some even joked that such an experience was so improbable that it felt like a “paid post”, a claim she denied. Others responded with sarcasm and light-hearted disbelief.

Reactions included:

  • “IndiGo studying your kundli for operational planning.”

  • “Not God, but surely IndiGo’s favourite child.”

  • “Buy lottery!! Your stars are all aligned.”

Another user commented that they too had a relatively smooth experience, saying their IndiGo flight departed with only a 30-minute delay while most others were cancelled.

Kanika’s post has since accumulated over 2.34 lakh views on X and continues to generate humorous engagement amid ongoing frustration among travellers.

Widespread disruptions continue across airports

The IndiGo crisis has led to mass cancellations, crowded terminals and flight rescheduling across major airports including Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Passengers have reported difficulties securing alternative flights, with some stranded overnight.

Viral videos have shown heated exchanges at boarding gates, chaotic queues, and confusion among airline staff and flyers. Travel advisories have been issued, urging passengers to check flight status before heading to the airport.

Contrasting experiences highlight scale of disruptions

Kanika’s unexpectedly smooth journey has stood out largely because it defies the dominant narrative: that most flyers are battling last-minute cancellations, misplaced baggage and long delays. At the same time, aviation experts point out that even during large-scale operational failures, isolated flights may still operate on schedule depending on crew availability, aircraft rotation and local weather conditions.

For now, the crisis continues to impact thousands daily, with full normalcy expected to take time as airlines reorganise aircraft schedules and resolve crew shortages.
