Lucknow. A big relief and good news has emerged for the transport employees in Uttar Pradesh. UP Transport Corporation has decided to increase the honorarium of its contract drivers and conductors. Under this, the honorarium of contract drivers and conductors working in general bus services has been increased by 14 paise per kilometer.

At the same time, the honorarium of drivers and conductors included in the excellent scheme with NCR and suburban bus service has been increased by 10 paise per kilometer. These new rates will be applicable from January 1, 2026. Transport Minister Daya Shankar Singh said that at present the drivers and conductors in Noida’s urban services, rural depots and NCR region were getting Rs 2.18 per kilometer. After the new decision, this rate will become Rs 2.28 per kilometer.

New Uttam Incentive Scheme also implemented

The minister also informed that the Transport Corporation has implemented the new Uttam Incentive Scheme. Under this, the driver will have to complete two years of continuous service and the operator will have to complete four years of continuous service. Apart from this, it will be mandatory to complete 288 days of duty in the financial year and cover a distance of 66,000 kilometers. There should not have been any accident with this. Under this scheme, the driver will get a total of Rs 18,687 (remuneration Rs 14,687 + incentive Rs 4,000) and the conductor will get Rs 18,418 monthly.

Seniority and additional benefits

At the same time, the oldest contract drivers will also be given additional incentives on the basis of seniority. Drivers with 20 years of service will be paid an additional Rs 1,500 monthly and drivers with 10 years of service will be paid an additional Rs 750. Additionally, drivers and conductors who have been on duty for 24 days or more and covered a minimum distance of 6,000 kilometers will also get an additional Rs 4,000.

Let us tell you that this increase and incentive scheme will significantly improve the income of the contractual employees of UP Transport Corporation. This step has been taken with the aim of encouraging the employees to work hard and provide long service.
