Smartphones and laptops have today become essential tools for work, study and entertainment. But as these devices have become the primary needs of the users, their performance problems have also increased. The most common problem among these is the slow speed of the device. According to technical experts, the root of this problem lies in bloatware, which silently eats up the resources of the phone and computer.

Bloatware is unwanted software or apps that come pre-installed on a device when you purchase it. This software is mostly put out by phone companies, laptop manufacturers or third-party partners for promotional reasons. These apps look normal, but keep consuming RAM, storage and battery in the background. In many cases, users do not even remove them considering it necessary, due to which the speed of the system continuously decreases over time.

The biggest problem with bloatware is that it not only takes up space but also has a direct impact on the functionality of the device. For example, some apps run in the background all the time, putting extra pressure on the processor. This not only reduces the speed but also drains the battery faster. Many times users do not understand why the phone is getting so hot even though it is new or why it has suddenly started lagging so much. Experts say that in most cases this is due to bloatware.

Bloatware can also become a big threat in terms of security. Some third-party apps have unnecessary permissions, which cyber attackers can take advantage of. Such apps can access the user’s location, contacts or browsing data. In many cases this data is sent to advertising companies, affecting privacy. This is why cyber security experts advise users to periodically check the pre-loaded apps on their devices.

Now the question is how to avoid this? First of all, users should go to the settings of their phone or laptop and see which apps are using more battery, data and RAM. Apps which are not in use should be uninstalled or disabled immediately. The “Disable” option is especially useful on Android phones, since many system apps can’t be uninstalled.

Also, when buying new phones it is better to choose models with “clean software” or “stock Android”. These devices are free from unnecessary apps and provide better performance in the long run. Lightweight operating systems or clean installs are also considered a good option for laptop users.
