New Dillu. The Central Government has issued a big statement on the discussions and confusion arising among the central employees and pensioners for the last several days regarding the 8th Pay Commission. The government has made it clear that all pensioners will get the benefit of 8th Pay Commission.

How many people will be benefited?

Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary informed in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on December 8, 2025 that 50.14 lakh central employees and about 69 lakh pensioners will be directly affected by the recommendations of the 8th Central Pay Commission. He said that after the commission’s report is accepted, necessary financial provisions for its implementation will be made in the budget, as it will be a huge expenditure for the central government.

Major questions raised in Lok Sabha

MP N.K. Premachandran, Thiru Thanga Tamilselvan, Dr. Ganapathy Rajkumar P. and Dharmendra Yadav raised many important questions, like will the 8th Pay Commission be implemented from 2026? Has the ToR been finalized? Will there be funds for this in the coming budget? Is the Commission taking suggestions from states, employees and pensioners? When will the commission submit its report and when will the government implement it? In response to all this, the Minister reiterated that the date of implementation has not been decided yet, and the Commission will do its work as per the prescribed procedure.

Relief for employees and pensioners

It has become clear from this clear statement of the government that work on the 8th Pay Commission has started. All 69 lakh pensioners will benefit from this. No final decision is yet to be taken regarding the implementation date, but the rumors have now subsided. With this, the long standing confusion between central employees and pensioners has ended to a great extent.
