A gathering of people of faith will gather on the banks of Triveni in the Magh Mela in Prayagraj. To give a divine, grand and grand look to this event, the Yogi government is also giving an attractive look to the roads and streets of the city connected to the Magh Mela area through which tourists and devotees will reach the Magh Mela. The government has released Rs 25 crore for this grand event.

In this sequence, preparations are being made to fill every main road and connecting road of the city with lights. The Municipal Corporation is taking this responsibility. Roadside trees have been given a new look through lighting.

Magh Mela visitors’ routes will be illuminated with neon and spiral lights

All the departments are busy in their preparations for the mega public gathering of faith, Magh Mela 2026, which is going to be held in Prayagraj from January 3. Efforts are also underway to beautify the routes through which visitors pass inside and outside the fair area. Dr. Sanjay Katiyar, Chief Engineer (Electrical) of Mechanical Department of Municipal Corporation Prayagraj, says that to welcome the tourists coming to Magh Mela, the lighting system on both sides of the roads of Sangam city is also being given a grand look.

Dharamnagari is being decorated to welcome Mahakumbh.

To give a new look to the roadside trees in the city, combined lighting arrangements of neon and spiral lights have been made on the lines of Mahakumbh 2025. In this arrangement, lights of different themes have been installed on the trunks, branches and leaves of 260 trees on important roads of the city. In these, neon and spiral lights have been combined in such a way that it appears as if the entire tree has been illuminated in the darkness of the night. Tourists and devotees going from Prayagraj Airport to Sangam will be able to observe this grand lighting system.

Motifs in the shape of conch, chakra, mace, trident and sword will also attract the attention of devotees.

Motifs in the shape of conch, chakra, mace, trident, sword etc. in 23 roads, 06 ROBs and 02 flyovers of the city will also attract the attention of the devotees. This arrangement made in Maha Kumbh is also being implemented in the organization of Magh Mela. There is no separate budget provision for this as these are still under the guarantee period of one year.

Roads and streets of Prayagraj city will be illuminated

Apart from the Magh Mela area, better lighting arrangements are being ensured in every street and major road of all the wards of the city. It is being implemented on the ground under the Rs 150 crore scheme made earlier by Prayagraj Municipal Corporation in the extended area and the original area. According to Dr. Sanjay Katiyar, Chief Engineer, Electrical Engineering, Municipal Corporation, a budget of about Rs 25 crore has been allocated to improve street lighting in 28 wards in the extended area.

Efforts to make the program grand with Rs 25 crore

In this, more than 11 thousand street lights are being installed in Jhunsi, Phaphamau and Naini areas. More than 4,400 street lights received by the fair administration are also being used. Efforts are being made that whatever route the visitors take to reach Magh Mela in the city, they find the streets and roads sparkling.
