Wanting to have abit of fun at Christmas, one woman decided to swap her usual gift giving with an unexpected surprise. Becky, who is known as @beckysbazaar on social media, shared how she swapped out Christmas crackers for lost Amazon parcels - and says it went down a treat.

Her unique idea hasinspired others to switch it up this year - with many excited about possibly stumbling across a pricey gift in the process. In her video, shared in 2023, she said: "I bought Amazon returns mystery parcels instead of crackers for Christmas dinner and here's how it went..."

Listing off the items her family unwrapped, she started with a six pack of Christmas socks, Christmas present bags, a voice recording device, a cat motion toy, a bark control device, a dinosaur advent calendar, and vacuum storage bags.

Commenting on her post, one user said: "I wish Australia had something like this." Another user added: "The digital recorder is used for paranormal investigating."

A third user said: "The idea is fun but I think the reality would be getting mostly junk you can't use." While a fourth user said: "Omg my mum lost a recorder in the post just like that and she ordered it from Amazon."

One more user said:" This is awesome. Next time I'm hosting I'm stealing this." A final user said: "This is such a good idea."

Shoppers can buy lost post from various websites - but have been warned against possible scams when doing so.

On eBay, there's thousands of listings under the search term 'lost post' - but some of these include the original buyer's name and address, creating a privacy issue.

While other customers have complained about the items inside their 'lost post', believing the items have been tampered with.

Some claim certain sellers go through all of the post before reselling it, removing anything valuable and replacing it with 'tat'.

For this reason, shoppers have been urged to do their own research before parting with any cash when buying items either in-person or online.

In another video, Becky opened a mystery box worth £100 just to see what strangers have been ordering online.

She stated: "I got a box of unclaimed returned mail and I'm going to open each parcel on camera. These boxes cost just over £100 and things got very interesting."

As she opened the box, she showed it was packed with individually-wrapped parcels - and was surprised to find two bags and a pair of blue light glasses.

But deeper inside the box, she discovered a shoebox-sized parcel and was thrilled to find it contained a navy and blue pair of Adidas Spezial trainers in size 7.5.

On Adidas' website, these trainers sell for £90, meaning she'd practically recouped all of her investment with this single item.

She added: "In the next parcel I got this brand-new teddy. But then things got very interesting - I pulled out this Stone Island brand-new black sweatshirt. I literally have no idea if it's real or not.

"Next, I pulled out this Longchamp bag. These are £100 in Selfridges. I also got a little miniature backpack version as well. Once again, I have got no idea if it's real."
