Government Employee News : Government job has always been a subject of attraction. One of the important points of this attraction is the facilities provided to the government employees. Government employees are given various benefits apart from salary.
Employees who retire from government service also get various benefits. Some health benefits are also provided by the government to government employees and pensioners.
Meanwhile, an important decision has been taken by the central government regarding the scheme of similar health benefits. According to the information received, the rules of Central Government Health Scheme i.e. CGHS and Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme i.e. ECHS applicable to Central Government employees and pensioners have been changed.
Interestingly, this change will be implemented from this month itself. The central government has brought new rules for hospitals providing health facilities under both these health schemes.
Meanwhile, the government has informed that the new rules issued by the government will come into effect in the next five days i.e. from 15 December 2025. In such a situation, now we are going to take a brief look at how exactly these new rules are and how they will affect the employees.
The central government has decided to implement new rules from December 15 to improve the quality of health care for government employees and pensioners. According to this new rule, various package rates of treatment have been changed.
It is hoped that due to this change, more modern, up-to-date and quality medical facilities will be available to the beneficiaries. The government has informed that the new rates will make it easy to get advanced treatment especially in Cardiac and Oncology treatment.
Also, some new rules have also been implemented for all the private hospitals who want to be in the CGHS and ECHS panel. Accordingly, the existing contracts of hospitals on this panel will not be valid after December 15.
All hospitals are required to apply digitally afresh to continue healthcare services. A revised agreement will then be required to be signed within 90 days. This process will increase transparency in service delivery and administrative work will be easier due to digital records.
The government has also announced the expansion of cashless treatment. The cashless facility, which was available in a limited form till now, will now extend to a wider range of services.
This decision will be a relief especially for the pensioners and the urgent expenses incurred for the treatment of serious diseases will be reduced. The new rates will be helpful in speeding up the cashless and reimbursement process.
Strict penalties are provided for laxity in service or violation of rules by hospitals. It has also been decided to ‘blacklist’ hospitals for repeated violations for a long period of time.
