Washington. A new twist has come in the murder case of an 83-year-old woman from Connecticut in the United States. The woman’s family has filed a lawsuit against ChatGPIT manufacturer OpenAI and its partner Microsoft. The family alleges that the Artificial Intelligence based chatbot increased the confusion of the son accused of murder and instigated him to murder his mother. The accused son is a former tech executive.

According to the reports of American newspaper The Washington Post and French afternoon newspaper Le Monde, 56-year-old Steen-Erik Solberg, accused of murder, committed suicide after killing his mother. According to lawsuit documents, Solberg has had mental health issues in the past. He told ChatGPT that the printer installed in his mother’s home office could be a surveillance device and is being used to spy on her. It is being claimed that the chatbot agreed to this. In this lawsuit, huge monetary compensation has been demanded and an order to Open AI to install security measures in the chatpat.

Steen-Erik Solberg brutally beat and strangled his mother, Suzanne Adams, to death at their home in Greenwich, Connecticut, in August and then committed suicide, police said. Adams’ family filed the lawsuit in California Superior Court in San Francisco on Thursday. The lawsuit says OpenAI has refused to provide Adams’ family with a complete history of chats. An OpenAI spokesperson said, “This is an incredibly heartbreaking situation. We will review the filing to understand the details.”
