Guwahati. Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has suspended four cricketers Amit Sinha, Ishan Ahmed, Aman Tripathi and Abhishek Thakuri for their alleged involvement in corrupt practices during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025. These players have represented Assam at different stages and an FIR has been registered against them in the crime branch of the state police. He has been accused of trying to influence and instigate some players from Assam who took part in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
ACA secretary Sanatan Das said, “After the allegations came to light, BCCI’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) conducted an investigation. ACA has also initiated criminal action. Prima facie there are indications of their involvement in serious misconduct which affects the integrity of the game. ,
Assam’s Syed Mushtaq League matches were held from November 26 to December 8 in Lucknow and it failed to enter the ongoing Super League stage. “He has been suspended to prevent any possibility of the situation worsening further,” Das said. The suspension will continue until the final outcome of the investigation is out or any further decision is taken by the association. ,
These players are barred from participating in any state-level tournament or match organized by the ACA, its district units or affiliated clubs during the suspension period. Participating in any cricket activity as a match referee, coach, umpire etc. during the suspension is also prohibited. Das said all district associations have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the order and inform the ACA decision to the clubs and academies under their jurisdiction.
