Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly is struggling to find work after her pending exit from the hit BBC dancing competition. She and Claudia Winkleman are preparing to say goodbye at their last ever live show of the competition on Saturday December 20th. Claudia's schedule is set to be jam-packed due to her other TV work, most notably hosting The Traitors and The Piano on Channel 4. However, a source close to Tess has revealed she doesn't have the same busy calendar as her long-term co-star. The BBC hosting duo will be going their separate ways after always vowing to leave the show at the same time, but Tess is getting concerned about her career in the long term.

Sources have told Express.co.uk that Tess is nervous because she doesn't have anything lined up. They added: "She's hoping to focus on her brands, but brands need the TV shows to stay interested. Claudia will be absolutely fine as she's the flavour of the month, but Tess is worried."

However, they explained that Tess is also taking a step back to allow her husband Vernon Kay to take on more work, but fears are mounting that she'll be forgotten without her prominent TV work keeping her at the forefront.

Tess works with multiple brands, such as L'Oreal and Wellwoman, and has also got her own swimwear brand, Naia Beach, which she co-founded in 2021.

Vernon has made it clear that he's keen to do more TV work too, and will be heading up a new celebrity quiz programme in 2026 called Do You Know Your Place?

Tess' fears of falling into the backseat come after she and Claudia issued a joint statement earlier in the series to announce that they would be hanging up their dancing shoes for pastures new.

Tess joined the show as an original host alongside Bruce Forsyth, with Claudia joining the main show in 2014, after Bruce stepped down. They had vowed since then that they would sign off together, once one of them had decided it was time to go.

In their exit statement, they wrote on Instagram: "We have loved working as a duo and hosting Strictly has been an absolute dream. We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time. We will have the greatest rest of this amazing series and we just want to say an enormous thank you to the BBC and to every single person who works on the show.

"They're the most brilliant team and we'll miss them every day. We will cry when we say the last 'keep dancing' but we will continue to say it to each other. Just possibly in tracksuit bottoms at home while holding some pizza."

Their replacement is unconfirmed, with BBC bosses likely screentesting some new faces and see who would perform best together on the show as it faces the first big shake-up in years.
