After all, how did it happen that grapes are no longer sour? There is a special reason for this.

Today grapes are as sweet as they appear, but they are equally dangerous from within. Its sweetness comes from chemicals. The mouth waters after seeing the shining black-green grapes in the market. But this sweetness is not natural, it is the result of chemicals. Farmers spray pesticides, fungicides and growth hormones to make the crop grow faster, make it shiny and protect it from pests. The report of the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) says that dangerous chemicals like chlorpyrifos, carbendazim, profenophos are found in grapes in 50 times more quantity. Apart from this, the quantity of lead and arsenic is found to be 200% above the WHO limit.

These chemicals are absorbed by the thin peel of grapes. A shiny coating of wax is applied on top, which looks good but keeps poison hidden inside. If it is not washed properly then the food will be very harmful. If these grapes are brought and washed with plain water then there is no benefit in it. These chemicals have penetrated deeply. FSSAI's lab testing revealed that 80% of marketable grapes are contaminated more than the pesticide limit. Eating 10-15 grapes without washing takes 0.5 mg of chlorpyrifos into the body, which can be fatal for a child. This can have five types of effects. Within 5 minutes, there will be a burning sensation in the mouth and swelling of the tongue. Apart from this, vomiting, dizziness and even stomach ache start occurring. Also there is difficulty in breathing. Consuming it for a long time also increases the possibility of liver-kidney failure.

Most dangerous for children
Children and the elderly are their easiest victims. The immune system of children is weak. Even 5-6 grapes are like poison for them. The kidneys of the elderly are already weak. Once this poison is gone, it is difficult to return. FSSAI has also warned about this but it is still sold indiscriminately in the market. FSSAI has issued an alert that after purchasing winter grapes, wash them seven times.
