Bajra Roti: People like to eat Bajra Roti during winter season. Actually, millet is hot in nature, hence it keeps the body warm from inside. It also contains nutrients like fiber, iron and calcium which are very beneficial for energy and health in the cold season. Bajra roti is helpful in improving digestion, controlling weight, controlling blood sugar and strengthening bones. However, while making bajra roti, it often breaks in the middle. Most of the people are not able to make round and puffed millet rotis. In such a situation, let us know how to make millet roti without it breaking?


Ingredients to make Bajra Roti
Two cups of millet flour, salt as per taste, half spoon of carom seeds, one spoon of oil, two spoons of ghee.


How to make market bread?
To prevent rotis from breaking, knead the dough with hot water: Heat one cup of water in a pan. When the water becomes hot, take 2 cups of millet flour in a bowl and slowly add hot water and keep mixing it. Now knead the dough well with this water. Add more water if needed. Cover the dough and keep it aside for 5 minutes. (If the dough is too dry, add a little warm water. If too sticky, add more flour.)


Season to taste: After 5 minutes, add salt and celery to the flour. Add some oil or ghee and knead the dough well again. Knead it until it becomes soft. Let the dough sit again for 10 minutes.


Rolling: Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball between your palms and smooth it. On a clean surface, flatten a ball and roll it into a round shape with the help of a rolling pin. The thickness can vary as per your preference. Try to ensure that the surface is smooth and without cracks.


To cook: Heat a griddle over medium-high heat. Place the rolled roti on a hot pan. When bubbles start appearing, turn it and cook the other side. Apply ghee on both sides and press gently with a spatula to cook evenly. Cook until golden brown spots appear on both sides.


Serve: Add a spoonful of ghee on the bajra roti and serve it hot. Have it with your favorite curry, curd, or any side dish of your choice.
