Jaishankar: Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi, co-chaired the 16th Joint Commission and 5th Strategic Dialogue with External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar.

Along with identifying important future goals, the two leaders went over every facet of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the United Arab Emirates.


“Deeper India-UAE cooperation advances shared interests and contributes to regional and global stability in today’s world,” EAM Jaishankar said on social media site X on Tuesday.


The EAM emphasized at the conference how the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) had led to a notable increase in bilateral trade, investments, fintech, and digital connectivity. Additionally, via bilateral agreements and programs like the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), he emphasized the enormous potential in connectivity and logistics.


The growth of energy cooperation, with an emphasis on civil nuclear cooperation, enhancing cultural and educational exchanges, and fortifying defense and security cooperation were all highlighted by EAM Jaishankar.


He also emphasized the significance of fostering interpersonal relationships and cultural ties, investigating new areas of collaboration in space, arctic, and key minerals research, and enhancing coordination in multilateral fora and trilateral procedures.


When Jaishankar visited Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the vice president of the United Arab Emirates, in Abu Dhabi on Monday, the two leaders spoke about measures to strengthen India-UAE defense and commercial cooperation.
