IPL 2026: According to a report on Monday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) notified the franchises that the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) will take place from March 26 to May 31.

Hemang Amin, the league’s CDO, briefed the IPL teams about the dates before to Tuesday’s auction in Abu Dhabi, according to a report from Cricbuzz.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the reigning champions, will kick off the 19th season of India’s domestic T20 team on March 26.

It is still unclear, however, whether they would host their games at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Because of the terrible stampede that occurred in Bengaluru a few months ago during RCB’s celebration of their first IPL triumph, the stadium’s availability is in doubt.

According to the report, the state government has given the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) conditional permission to stage IPL matches at the location, provided that certain safety and security standards are met.

Late on the eve of the auction for the 2026 IPL in Abu Dhabi, the BCCI added 19 players to complete the player pool on Monday night.

Ben Sears of New Zealand, Ethan Bosch of South Africa, and Bengal opener Abhimanyu Easwaran were among the late adds.

As eleven teams prepare for the IPL 2026 auction, which is scheduled for Tuesday at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, players like Cameron Green, Liam Livingstone, and Ravi Bishnoi will be in the limelight.

It will be the third consecutive IPL auction held outside of India, after Dubai in 2024 and Jeddah in 2025.

In order to attract elite players and assemble a team capable of winning the IPL 2026 trophy, all ten franchises are anticipated to relax their budgets.

There are 77 seats available in total, 31 of which are for players from other countries. The team with the most openings is the three-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), with thirteen, followed by the 2016 champion Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), with ten.

359 players—244 Indian and 115 foreign—have been selected from a longlist of 1,355. Bishnoi and Venkatesh Iyer are the only Indians among the forty players who have joined at the highest base fee of Rs 2 crore.

Due to the lopsided demand-supply ratio at a mini IPL auction, Australia’s seam-bowling all-rounder Green is anticipated to be the biggest draw, with offers set to exceed Rs 25 crore.

Along with Bishnoi and Green, all ten teams are likely to show a lot of interest in the England duo of Liam Livingstone and Jamie Smith, as well as in Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana, who was released by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), NZ pacer Matt Henry, keeper-batter Tim Seifert, and South Africa batsman David Miller.
