Lucknow, 16 December. Committed to making Uttar Pradesh ‘Uttam Pradesh’, the government of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is continuously working on strengthening and modernizing the transport infrastructure of the state towards realizing the goals of Vision-2047.

Under the vision of ‘Developed Uttar Pradesh’, the main focus of the government is to strengthen regional transport connectivity as well as ensure last mile connectivity, so that the cities, towns and industrial areas of the state can be provided with fast, safe and world-class transport facilities.

Special focus on development of high-speed rail network

The state government is preparing a comprehensive blueprint to make commuting between urban areas faster and easier through high-speed transport networks. Under this, special attention is being given to the development of high-speed rail network to connect major cities and economic centres. Keeping in view the future needs, an action plan is being prepared to systematically develop this network in an area of ​​more than one thousand kilometers in the state. With its implementation, not only will the travel time be reduced, but the movement of people will also become easier and economic activities will also get a new impetus.

Work is also going on to strengthen the regional transport system.

Keeping in mind the expansion and comprehensive rejuvenation of the urban areas of the state, work is also being done to strengthen the regional transport system. According to the plan, an action plan for the development of an expanded regional transport network in an area of ​​about 1,500 kilometers in the state is being considered. Along with this, plans are also being made for the construction of various orbital corridors, which will increase connectivity between cities and reduce traffic pressure in urban areas. These corridors will strengthen the economy of the state by better connecting industrial areas, logistics hubs and urban centres.

Focus also on operation and expansion of metro rail projects in major cities

In the same sequence, focus is also being placed on intercity hyperloop, operation and expansion of metro rail projects in major cities of the state and development of water metro network.

Strong transport infrastructure is the backbone of economic development

Better regional connectivity is expected to provide a new direction to business and industry in the state. Development of various corridors and transportation networks will provide industries with easy access to raw materials, markets and manpower. This will not only promote investment but will also create new employment opportunities. Yogi Adityanath government believes that strong transport infrastructure is the backbone of economic development, hence a comprehensive action plan is being worked on to take these schemes forward as per the future needs.

Emphasis on development of transportation means

The strategy of the state government is not limited only to large transport network, but keeping in mind the daily needs of common citizens, last mile connectivity has also been given top priority. Emphasis is being laid on the development of various transport modes to connect regional transport systems to urban and semi-urban areas, thereby ensuring uninterrupted access of people to home, workplace, markets and other essential services.
