Gunshots have been fired in front of travellers at JFK Airport in New York City as police investigate an alleged road rage incident.

Police were called to the airport in the early hours of Tuesday morning. An on-duty customs officer allegedly shot a driver. Terrified onlookers watched as the incident unfolded in terminal 8 of the airport.

No one has been reported injured, but one vehicle was hit by gunfire.
