'Unimaginable pain': Rob Reiner's children issue statement about parents' murder

Three days after Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their home, their children have spoken out.

The couple's son, Nick Reiner, has been arrested for the murders.

Their daughter, Romy Reiner, and eldest son, Jake Reiner, said in a statement, "Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day."

Nick appeared in court Wednesday after being charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

He did not enter a plea during the brief hearing and is scheduled to appear again on January 7.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office has said that he could face the death penalty due to "special circumstances."

Romy discovered her parents' bodies in their bedroom on December 14 after they failed to answer a scheduled visitor.

Despite medical assistance and law enforcement arriving shortly after a 911 call was made, both Reiner and Michele were found dead.

Nick, who lived in a guesthouse on his parents' property, was arrested by the LAPD over 16 km away later that night.
