Emily in Paris has returned for its fifth seasonand fans are already sharingtheir verdicts.

In this new outing, we see marketing pro Emily taking on life in Rome, Venice and, of course, Paris. Lily Collins reprises her leading role, starring alongside Eugenio Franceschini as her love interest Marcello.

The rest of the cast sees the likes of Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Emily's boss Sylvie Grateau, as well as Ashley Park, in the role of Emily's friend Mindy Chen.

While the show follows Emily as she faces romance and heartbreak, many viewers are keen to know about the cast and their romantic lives away from the show.

Many have taken an interest in leading lady Collins' current relationship and her past romance with a very familiar face to Netflix viewers.

Those who weren't familiar with Collins in the 2010s may have missed her on-and-off relationship with Jamie Campbell Bower, but fans were fully invested. Bower has risen to mainstream fame since joining the Stranger Things cast asVecna, but his acting credits date all the way back to the Twilight films.

He found love with Collins after meeting her on the set of 2012 fantasy drama The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. However, they ended their relationship in 2013.

But the couple went on to reunite in 2015, with Collins sharing a picture of them kissing on Instagram, captioned: "Life works in mysterious ways..."

Though fans were rooting for the pair, they reportedly called it quits again by the end of 2015. They appeared to have patched things up in January 2018, when they started writing flirty comments under each other's Instagram posts.

But they would split again in summer 2018, with the Daily Mail reporting that the break up was amicable.

As of 2025, Collins is married to filmmaker Charlie McDowell, who has directed huge productions such as Netflix's Dear White People.

The duo met in 2019 on the set of Gilded Rage, where he was directing and she was acting. The actress has previously described their meeting as "one of those cheesy-but-true love-at-first-sight things".

Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres about their meet-cute, Collins explained that she was surprised they hadn't come across one another before, considering they work in the same industry.

"We both are in the industry and we have parents that are in a similar industry as well, but we met randomly, actually," she explained.

Like Collins, who is the daughter of singer Phil Collins and actress Jill Tavelman, McDowell also has famous parents (English actor Malcolm McDowell and American actress Mary Steenburgen).

"So we were kind of surprised we hadn’t met yet. We’d been in the same rooms a bunch of times and never met. But it was kind of one of those cheesy-but-true love-at-first-sight things," she added.

Just a year later, they got engaged during a road trip in New Mexico and their wedding followed in 2021. The couple welcomed daughter Tove Jane McDowell via surrogacy in January 2025.
