New Delhi: In just 11 days Australia clinched the Ashes series 3-0. The victory was not easy as England put up a tough fight on the final day but the Australian team showed their class under pressure and won the match by 82 runs.
Australias Strong Batting Foundation
In the first innings Australia scored 371 runs. Travis Head played a magnificent innings of 102 runs while Alex Carey and Josh Inglis also made valuable contributions. In reply England were bowled out for 286 giving Australia a crucial lead.

Heads Aggression in the Second Innings
In Australias second innings Travis Head once again dominated the English bowlers. He played a blistering innings of 170 runs taking Australia to 349 and setting England a challenging target of 431 runs.

Englands Spirited but Unsuccessful Effort
In the fourth innings England produced their best performance of the match. A crucial 91-run partnership between Jamie Smith and Will Jacks gave them hope. Smith scored a half-century while Jacks and Brydon Carse tried to bring the team closer to the target. However as the target came within 100 runs Australia tightened their grip on the match.

Starc and Boland Seal the Victory
Mitchell Starc made a crucial comeback taking the wickets of Will Jacks and Jofra Archer at a critical juncture. Scott Boland then took the final wicket completely extinguishing Englands hopes. England were all out for 352 runs and Australia won the match by 82 runs.
