Due to severe cold, cold wave and dense fog in North India, schools have been closed in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain and snowfall. Holidays in many districts including Ambedkar Nagar and school timings in Jhansi have been changed.

These days, North India is in the grip of cold wave and dense fog. From mountains to plains, cold has affected people's daily routine. The effect of this changing mood of weather is now visible on children's education also. In view of the increasing cold, District Magistrates in many districts of Uttar Pradesh have issued orders to close schools and change timings as a precautionary measure.

Meteorological Department's alert, cold is expected to increase further

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the hilly states due to the influence of western disturbance. Its effect will also be seen in the plains, where cold and fog may increase with light rain. Keeping this in mind, winter vacations have been started in many districts before December 25.

Schools closed in these districts of Uttar Pradesh

In view of the increasing severity of cold, orders have been issued to keep schools closed in different districts of Uttar Pradesh. These orders have been issued by the District Magistrates of the respective districts.

Ambedkar Nagar

In Ambedkar Nagar district, all schools from nursery to class 12 will remain closed from December 22 to 24. District Magistrate Anupam Shukla has issued orders in this regard.

Sant Kabir Nagar

In Sant Kabir Nagar, the District Magistrate has declared holiday in all schools from classes 1 to 8 on 22 December.

Two days holiday in Farrukhabad

According to the Basic Education Officer of Farrukhabad, due to cold, District Magistrate Ashutosh Kumar Dwivedi has given instructions to keep all schools from nursery to class 12 closed on 22 and 23 December.

Holiday of primary schools in Rae Bareli

Rae Bareli's Basic Education Officer Rahul Singh said that on the instructions of District Magistrate Harshita Mathur, there will be a holiday on December 22 and 23 in all council, KGBV, aided, state recognized and schools of all boards running from pre-primary to class 8.

School timings changed in Jhansi

Schools have not been completely closed in Jhansi district, but timings have been changed in view of the cold. According to the order of District Magistrate Mridul Chaudhary, all schools from classes 1 to 8 will now operate from 10 am to 3 pm.

In view of the extreme cold and fog, the administration is alert and the safety of children is being given priority. If the weather worsens in the coming days, orders for closure of schools or change in timings may be issued in other districts also. In such a situation, parents and students have been advised to keep an eye on administrative instructions.
